In the fall of 2016, I was diagnosed with Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease. UCTD is an autoimmune disease that has symptoms similar to Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and Sjogren’s Syndrome; my body is attacking my connective tissues (joints, tendons, etc).

Aside from debilitating joint pain and stiffness, I also experience fatigue, dry eyes and mouth, hair loss, occasional malar rash, and other symptoms.

I have a positive anti-dsDNA and ANA, which are autoimmune markers and also usually red flags for Lupus.

There is a possibility that my UCTD might fully develop into or is already Lupus. For now, it’s being treated with weekly injections of Methotrexate and daily Prednisone.
